Worker’s Compensation Financials

There are multiple categories of benefits which are payable at various times depending on the injured workers’ disability and work status. These include Temporary Total Disability, Temporary Partial Disability, Impairment Income Benefits, and Permanent and Total Disability. Thus, there is no fixed beginning or ending date, though certain categories of benefits have limits as to how long they will last. Typically, during the period of active treatment, the authorized doctor will state what the work status of the injured worker is, and benefits are usually paid accordingly. Once Maximum Medical Improvement is reached, most disability-based benefits end. Impairment Income benefits may be payable at that time, or in the event the injured worker is unable to return to gainful employment, Permanent and Total Disability benefits may be payable.
